One Position Description:
-Design, develop and document proof of concept and prototype applications for a highly visible office in a new
organization using Java, J2EE, Oracle, other languages and technologies and COTS products. Prototypes will
normally include the use of data visualization technologies which may be open-source, custom-developed, COTS
or GOTS. The engineer will develop prototypes on a stand-alone network where there is greater control of the
environment and systems. The engineer will also need to collaborate with the DBA and other non-technical SMEs
to develop prototypes and clarify requirements.
-Install, administer, maintain and troubleshoot software needed to develop software applications including
databases, application servers and other COTS products.
-Present proof of concept results to senior government and contractor managers and staff.
-Research new technologies and products that can be used in prototypes as needed. Once research is
completed, the engineer will provide summary of research results to prototype team and others, as needed.
-Meet with external organizations in the DC Metro area to discover their software application's current and future
capabilities and identify opportunities for further collaboration.
Minimum requirement for qualification:
-TS/SCI clearance with Lifestyle or full scope poly
-BS in technology related field
